Any work presented as your own that was written, developed, created, or inspired by artificial intelligence (AI) is considered plagiarism and will not be tolerated. The incredible advances made in the field of AI are exciting and have the potential to significantly alter our educational experiences, workforce expectations, and personal lives. However, this kind of technology is not appropriate for this class. Relying on AI to do any of the assignments in this class will rob you of the experiences that shape your development as a thinker, a writer, and a person. You’re paying money to learn in this class, probably a lot of money. If you want to pay all that money just submit prompts to ChatGPT or some other service, just save your time and your tuition dollars and drop the course now. If that appeal to your honor and common sense doesn’t work, consider this last point: As the AI tech develops, so has the ability of anti-plagiarism tools to detect AI-created work. I’m not going to pretend to be certain that I’ll catch all AI content, but I do catch some of it. In this most recent summer session, I caught and had to give Fs to three students who were using AI. I’ve already seen some pretty crappy and inaccurate content come out of some of these chatbots. It’s just not worth the significant stain on your record and representation to cheat.IMPORTANT: Grammarly and possibly other services that edit your writing using large-language models will be flagged as AI in Blackboard. Do not use Grammarly or other AI-based services to do your writing.
