A local politician asked several residents if they would agree to place a small 5×5 inch sign in their front window promoting his candidacy for mayor.  One week later he decides that he needs more exposure in public, and asks those same residents if they would agree to have a 2×3 foot sign placed in their front yard.  Most people agreed.  Interestingly, residents who were not asked first to place the small sign in their window, were much less likely to allow a larger sign to be placed in their front yard.
