Remember how we start the exam: You get on Zoom on your phone, not your computer! From your RIT zoom account! You get on Mycourses on your computer. You check that you are being recorded on Zoom. If not, please remind me to record. Using your phone, show me your work space, your calculator, you paper prepared to solve problems, your formulae sheets/MOItable/your “cheat” sheets that you can make. Show me that there are no people in the room, no other electronic device, no smart watch. Start your exam on your computer. If it starts ok and no issues, you are being recorded by your computer camera now. Show that you are putting your phone on “do not disturb” and putting it somewhere out of your reach or in the view of the computer camera (like on bookshelves behind you). If all is well with you, do not ask me if you may start, just turn off your phone, start, and good luck. I hope you will not be too stressed. All rules are as for Exam 1 – you may take a short bathroom break, but if you can go without – even better, as Honorlock flags you, and I may have to give you extra questions. If Exam 2 is not opening for you, stay on Zoom and talk to me. The computer camera wants to see your eyes, so please do not cover them with sunglasses or the brim of a cap.

A) Draw the energy band diagram for Lithium assuming that the work function of Lithium is 1eV and the value of EF0 is 5eV. Be sure to label Evac, EF0, and the work function appropriately. B) Redraw the diagram under the influence of a +1V potential on the right hand side. Assume the left hand side is maintained at 0V. C) Describe from an energy perspective which way the electrons will move in the material in part B and why. Do all work for this question on your show your work sheet. Do not enter anything into Canvas.
