PAUSE for INSTRUCTIONS ………………………………….

PAUSE for INSTRUCTIONS …………………………………………………………..and PASSWORDRelax! Please do read the entire information here before taking any steps!Let this page be open/minimized as you need to come back. You may use your handwritten lecture notes or handwritten homework. You may use a non-graphing calculator and the software listed on Blackboard page of this course, in Items 10,11,12. Other software or graphing calculators are not allowed.Phone usage is only for making PDF copies and upload, after WebAssign portion, in the last 10 min.Time:Exam timer does not start until you log into WebAssign exam.Time remaining will show on WebAssign.Regular Start Time during 8am-5pm on the day of exam.Late Start/Makeup exam by prior permission. Otherwise 10 point penalty.Restrictions:Only one monitor allowed.Use Chrome, on a computer with mic, webcam, and steady internet connection 5+Mb/s.Use a well-lit, glare-free, private, and quiet area/work table.Phone usage only after WebAssign submission and solely for creating and submission of PDF file.Only non-graphing calculators allowed. Not allowed:  digital search, eBooks, math helper websites, Chat, AI, unauthorized persons, printouts of any websites, printouts of WebAssign questions, etc. if in doubt ask first before mis-interpreting.An HonorLock employee may interrupt your exam. There can be deductions for not following protocol and the prescribed steps, especially if HonorLock flags your exam. Pay attention to the Exam Ending Steps listed in red below that is the main cause of red flags.Steps:(a) Once you get your WebAssign exam password, as given below, let this page be open until you have submitted the PDF on WebAssign (do NOT click Submit button on Blackboard, do NOT close browser, do not turn off computer. Any interruption causes a red flag),(b) Open another tab on your browser,(c) Log into your WebAssign account, then sign into the exam using the password you will pick below.(d) Show your calculator to your webcam at the start of the WebAssign exam.(e) Read the instructions at the top of the WebAssign exam. In particular the statement of the problems need not be written, however a table of content and the solutions showing all steps or reasoning, similar to lectures or text, are to be written. At times you may be asked for the PDF write up for only a subset of problems as listed in the instruction.(f) Take the exam and submit before time runs out.(g) Immediately after WebAssign exam enter the PDF upload assignment with the same password. Only at this stage you may use your smart phone for making the PDF upload from your work, or use your scanner. You have 10 minutes, additional time has 5 points/minute cost.(h) Upload your PDF.Exam Ending Steps:At the conclusion of exam, once the PDF is submitted, COME BACK to this page.(0) There is a silly “a-b+c=?” question below on Blackboard. Just type the answer. (But the real questions are on WebAssign and your submit your PDF there, as you did for homework.)(1) In the submission box below type “Submitted to WebAssign”. (2) Click SUBMIT.(3) Then, and only then, click HonorLock’s “Stop Screen Share” at the bottom of your monitor. Then you are free to go. If you wish, you may remove HonorLock at the conclusion and re-install with the start of the next exam.Your WebAssign exam and PDF upload password is   JKXL8924it is case sensitive and must be typedAdditional remarks:”Ask Your Instructor” button could be used to leave a note on a specific problem. I will view the notes the next day.On Blackboard “unlimited attempts” and “time 600 minutes” refer to equipment setup, and not to the actual WebAssign exam which has one or two attempts per question, and much shorter duration. “Midnight Due time” is for Blackboard functionality and possible late comers, Regular start time on WebAssign is still 8am-5pm. Late exam without prior authorization has 10 point penalty. The grades on Blackboard are meaningless. If you see a 0 there it does not mean anything. Actual grades are on WebAssign and you need to monitor those. In case of anomalous events document them (use screenshots or video). If your upload button is greyed out or inoperative, send pdf by mail. After exam “remove cache and cookies for all time” and reboot. If not familiar with the cache issue search it online. Some students leave questions open and wait to the last second to submit answers to WebAssign. This is very risky as time could end and you will be left with no answers and get a 0. Observe the timer on WebAssign. Submit each questions as you progress.Issues: email from your Lamar OutLook account tomaesumi@lamar.eduinclude name, L number, and class name (ODE)
