You are interested in how a student’s reading and math scores along with the student’s gender affect his/her being in an honors class. To do so, you collected 200 students’ gender, math scores, reading scores, and whether they are in the honors class. Table 2 shows the first 15 observations of the data. The variable female is 1 if the student is a female, 0 otherwise. The variable read is the student’s reading score. The variable math is the student’s math score. Finally, the variable honor indicates whether the student is in the honors class or not. For example, the first student is a male student (female = 0), his reading score is 57 (read = 57) and his math score is 41 (math = 41). He is not in the honors class (honor = 0). You ran a logistic regression analysis where honor was the dependent variable, and female, read, and math were the independent variables.     Below is a part of the SPSS output.      a. (5 points) What is the probability that a female student whose math score is 55 and reading score is 90 will be in the honors class. Show how you compute the probability.   b. (5 points) Fill the blank: As the math score increases by 1 point, the odds of being in an honors class increase by ______ %. As the reading score increases by 1 point, the odds of being in an honors class increases by ______ %. To get the full credit, explain your answer.

There are two t-tests (test A and test B) that examine the consumption amounts of two different consumer groups (e.g., male consumers and female consumers). Due to random sampling, the sample of consumers selected for test A is generally different from the sample of consumers selected for test B. Suppose in test A, the difference between the means of the two groups selected for the test (i.e., test A) is 10, while in test B, the difference between the means of the two groups selected for the test (i.e., test B) is just 1. If test B concluded that the two group means were statistically different at the 5% significance level, then test A will conclude that its two group means are also statistically different at the 5% significance level.
