Haley, who works at a national retail company, was investigating the relationship between delivery delays and inventory management across regional distribution centers. She aimed to identify which factors were most predictive of delayed deliveries. She selected three variables she believed could be influential: inventory turnover rate, average restock time, and number of backordered items per week. She conducted a multiple linear regression analysis using these variables. Her sample included at least 10 instances of both on-time and delayed deliveries.Upon reviewing the regression output, she observed that the scatterplots showed a relatively linear relationship between each explanatory variable and the response variable (delivery delay time). The residual vs. predicted delay plot revealed a random scatter of points. Additionally, the normal quantile plot of the residuals showed points in a relatively straight line.
