Use the table below to answer question: Neurons are nerve cells that send messages all over your body to allow you to do everything from breathing to talking, eating, walking, and thinking. They operate by releasing neurotransmitters (NT), which act as chemical messenger.  Release of NT occurs through the process of ______________________, in which a vesicle inside the cell releases its contents to the outside of the cell in response to an increase in calcium ions.

Use the description below to answer question. Osmosis is the…

Use the description below to answer question. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a solution with a high concentration of water molecules to a solution with a lower concentration of water molecules. Another way to look at this is that water moves to where there is a high solute concentration, assuming the solute is unable to move through the membrane.  This will produce osmotic pressure which develops in a system due to osmosis. The greater the possible osmotic pressure, the more likely it is that water will diffuse in that direction. Depending on the nature of a solution (hyper, hypo or isotonic) a cell placed into that solution can have various outcomes. Based on this information answer the question below.   A semipermeable membrane sac that only allows water to pass through it is filled with water and large molecules of starch.  The sac is then placed in a beaker of water.  Every 15 minutes the mass of the sac is measured for up to one hour. Which graph represents the expected results? Place the letter of the graph on your scantron.
