According to a joint survey conducted by Sportico and Harris Poll, 67% of U.S. adults believe that college athletes should be paid. Suppose you were to take a random sample of 300 U.S. adults. Use a binomial distribution to solve this problem. Find the probability as a decimal that at least 212 U.S. adults from your sample believe that college athletes should be paid. (Type your answer as a decimal rounded to 3 decimal places. So if you thought the answer was 0.12345 then you would type in 0.123)

According to the 2023 study on commute times in the U.S., 20% of U.S. workers commute at least 30 minutes to work. Suppose you were to take a random sample of 10 U.S. workers Use a binomial distribution to solve this problem. Find the probability as a decimal that either 2 or 5 U.S. workers from your sample commute at least 30 minutes to work. (Type your answer as a decimal rounded to 3 decimal places. So if you thought the answer was 0.12345 then you would type in 0.123)

A study was done in 2023 looking at commute times to work for workers in the United States. The data is summarized in the table below. Commute Times & Probabilities Commute Time Probability None 0.26 Less than 15 Minutes 0.24 15 – 29 Minutes 0.30 30 – 59 Minutes 0.17 60 – 119 Minutes 0.02 120+ Minutes 0.01 Find the probability as a decimal that a randomly selected worker has a commute that is 30-59 minutes long. (Write your answer as a decimal rounded to 2 decimal places. So if you thought the answer was 0.12345 then you would write 0.12 as your answer.)

A High School Athletics Participation Survey was conducted by the National Federation of State High School Associations in conjunction with NCAA. As part of the survey, data was collected on the number of high school athletes that compete in various sports, as well as how many of those individuals went on to compete in those same sports at the Division I, Division II, or Division III level. In the table below we can see the data collected for 5 unique sports and how many individuals competed in each one at the various Division levels in college (163,047 total in table). We will assume for this problem that none of the student athletes included in the table below competed in more than one of the sports listed, and that they each competed in a single Division at the collegiate level. College Athletes by Division College Sports Division I Division II Division III Women’s Track & Field 12926 7181 8617 Men’s Soccer 5623 6489 12112 Women’s Basketball 5154 4725 6872 Men’s Football 28174 19505 26007 Women’s Softball 6190 5826 7646 Calculate the probability that a randomly selected student-athlete from this group is on a Women’s Track & Field team or is a Division II athlete. (Please type in your answer as an unsimplified fraction. So if you thought the answer was 80/100, you would type in your answer as 80/100)

In 2023, a study was conducted looking at the number of fans in attendance across the major sports. It found that the NFL had an average attendance at its games of 69,500 people. Assume this data is normally distributed and the true standard deviation is 16,250. Find the probability as a decimal that a randomly selected NFL game from 2023 had an attendance of at most 52,000 people or at least 61,000 people. (Type your answer as a decimal rounded to 3 decimal places. So if you thought the answer was 0.12345 then you would type in 0.123)
