A batch of ibuprofen powder was analysed by reversed phase liquid chromatography to determine the percentage purity of the API. 50.1 mg of the product was dissolved in 100 mL of solvent, and 1 µL of this solution was injected onto the HPLC system. The principal peak eluted at 6.13 min with an area of 10972.1. A reference solution was prepared containing 48.7 mg of ibuprofen standard (99.15 % purity), made up to 100 mL in a volumetric flask. 1 µL of this solution was injected onto the HPLC system, giving a peak eluting at 6.12 min with an area of 11005.9. Calculate the purity of the ibuprofen batch (% w/w).  (5 marks)
