Start Here: BACKGROUND INFORMATION Ziggy is a 6 month old boy that was recently rushed to the hospital. After sleeping for an extended period of time, his parents noticed blue coloration around his nose and mouth, in addition to significant discoloration of his fingers and toes. His parents also mentioned that Ziggy appeared to have trouble breathing, particularly when he slept. He often had short, abbreviated breaths as if he was struggling to take in air. There appeared to be no changes in the baby’s temperament or general health prior to bringing him in for this condition.
