Past medical history revealed that on routine examination in the physician’s office, the patient was found to have a lump in her neck. The  patient was referred for ultrasound and a thyroid biopsy. Ultrasound of the neck confirmed a 3-centimeter solitary thyroid nodule of the right lobe and a 4-centimeter nodule of the left lobe. Fine-needle aspiration demonstrated classic findings for papilloma thyroid neoplasm. Thyroid function tests were normal. The patient underwent complete thyroidectomy. Postoperatively, the patient did well with normal calcium levels. The patient was discharged two days after surgery with a follow-up appointment in appointment in 10 days.
