Bоth kites аnd trаpezоids аre sоmetimes defined in different ways. Trapezoids, as we have already found, can be defined as a quadrilateral with at least one set of parallel opposite sides or a quadrilateral with exactly one set of parallel opposite sides. Similarly, kites are sometimes defined as quadrilaterals with two sets of equal side lengths and sometimes defined as a quadrilaterals with two sets of adjacent side lengths of equal length. Decide which definition of each type of quadrilateral is being used in the diagram below. Figure long description (click to reveal) Venn diagram with outer circle labeled "Quadrilaterals" and three inner, nonoverlapping circles labeled "Trapezoid," "Kite," and "Parallelogram," respectively. Inside the Trapezoid circle is another circle labeled "Isosceles Trapezoid." Inside the parallelogram circle are two other circles that overlap labeled "Rectangle" and "Rhombus." Their intersection is labeled "Square."
