It is interesting tо see hоw unexpected life events cаused peоple to chаnge аnd grow.  My 80-year-old grandmother is a good example.  She was born during World War I and was having a traditional family where the father went to work and the mother had stayed home to take care of the children.  She believed that her life will follow the same course.  She married early and have three children before the age of twenty-three.  Unfortunately, one died before his first birthday.  World War II was the second unexpected event to change the life she had planned for herself.  Her husband is in the Army; he was killed in France.  Before his death, my grandmother had take evening courses at a local college.  She eventually received her Master’s Degree in Social Work and worked for the state for thirty years.  Because her life doesn’t follow the path she planned, she becomes a flexible, open-minded person.  Unlike many people her age, now she accepts modern ideas about marriage, divorce, religion, and pregnancy.  She knows from experience that life was unpredictable.  From her, I have learned that we should not be too rigid or we will be disappoint about the paths that our lives take.
