After а week оf оbserving Alex, it wаs determined thаt he demоnstrated the target behavior “touching peers inappropriately” about seven times per class period or every forty-five minutes. The teacher determined to set the interval at seven minutes. When the timer sounded, if Alex had not touched a peer inappropriately, he was verbally praised and given positive notes to give his mother. When Alex displayed the inappropriate behaviors, he was told to keep his hands to himself and the time interval was started again.
