Imаges “A” аnd “B” were expоsed аt оne оf the clinical sites. Image “C” was exposed in our lab. These images clearly show that the lateral can be very hard to obtain. The clinical site lateral is much worse than the lab lateral.   Very tight collimation, a grid, 80 kV or higher and mAs that is consistent with half the patient’s body weight or higher is needed to get this image. From experience I have found that few tech’s get this position on the first try.   Image “B” should have been repeated, but it was accepted as a good film. It is not a good film.   Question: What method was used by the clinical site tech for image “B” and what suggestion would you give the tech to get a better radiograph of this lateral?
