Answer the following questions to explain what has gone wrong and why this prevents normal muscle contraction:  What is the normal role of calcium in muscle contraction, and how does it trigger the cross-bridge cycle? (5 points) Without calcium release, what specific step in the contraction process cannot occur? (4 points) How would this affect the interaction between actin and myosin as described by the sliding filament model? (6 points) What role does ATP still play in this scenario, even though the muscle isn’t contracting? (5 points)
