Mr. Gоnzаlez is аn оrthоpedic pаtient who underwent knee surgery 3 weeks ago. Each week his PT has been documenting ROM progress via Goniometric measurements. Today the PT asks Jeannie, a student PTA, to measure the patient’s knee flexion ROM using a goniometer. Jeannie positions the patient in prone and assesses a firm end feel due to muscular tension. She aligns her Goni to the 3 standard landmarks and takes the measurement. The resulting knee flexion ROM is considerably less when compared to last week. Please respond to the following questions: A. As indicated above, the firm end feel is due to muscular tension. Which muscle group would cause it? B. What has the PTA done procedurally, that has caused the resulting knee flexion ROM to be considerably less? C. What is the term (as discussed in various classes) for the resulting muscular tension?D. What procedural change should Jeannie make in order to get a more accurate result?
