The hаrdest pаrt оf the "dаtive prepоsitiоns" is memorizing them as vocabulary. The grammar is easy. If a noun or pronoun follows one of these words (i.e. is the object of the preposition), it's dative! No need to wonder about direct/indirect object etc... Hey, does it follow one of these words? Yes? It's dative! Piece of cake... that is, if you have your dative articles/endings/pronouns memorized, then it's a piece of cake! What do these prepositions mean?
