Scenario:  Erin is a 40 year old female with a small bowel obstruction.  A PICC line has been placed and her TPN has been placed.  She is receiving 500 ml D70 and 500 ml 8.5% AA running at 80 ml/hr.  She is also receiving 200 ml 20% intralipid daily.  Ht: 5’3” Wt: 193 lbs Erin needs 1500 calories and 70 grams of protein Be sure to show your work to earn partial credit. 1.  Calculate Erin's weight in kg. (2 pts) 2.  Calculate Erin's fluid needs. (1 pt) 3.  How many ml of 2-in-1 solution did Erin receive in the past 24 hours? (1 pt) 4.  How many kcal is her current TPN order providing? (3 pts) 5.  How many grams of protein is Erin's TPN providing? (1 pt) 6. Calculate Erin's dextrose load. (2 pts) 7. Calculate Erin's fat load. (2pts) 8.  Is the current TPN order appropriate?  If not, what changes to the TPN would you suggest and why?  The TPN order does not need to be recalculated, just explain what you would change. (3pts)
