Question 1: A 64-pound object is suspended from a spring that has a natural length of 2 feet.  When the weight is applied the spring has a total length of 30 inches.  At the start, the object is lifted upward a total of 6 inches and given a downward velocity of 0.25 ft/sec.  The damping force is 20 when the velocity is 2 ft/sec.  An external force, F(t)=5sin(ωt),  is applied and the system experiences resonance. Compute the position equation. Over an extended period of time the objects position behaves like what position equation? Question 2:  Compute the equation for the charge on the capacitor in an L-R-C series circuit when L = 1 henry, R = 2 ohms, C = 0.2 farad, E(t) = 225 volts, q(0) = 4 coulombs and i(0) = 0. Compute the equation for the charge on the capacitor. Compute the maximum charge on the capacitor and the time at which it takes place. What does the maximum charge on the capacitor approach over an extended period of time?
