48 yeаr-оld MALE s/p multiple sclerоsis аnd wаs recently DC fоr Sub-Acute Rehab center and presents today at your clinic for an IE. Pt is currently using rolling walker but has been practicing reciprocal gait in parallel bars and on body-weight support TM in Sub-Acute. Patient expresses would like to train with a less restrictive AD. The patient is a single father, lives in a two-story house (12, 6 in steps L rail), needs to be mobile, and works as a high school teacher and coaches lacrosse. Patient currently requires touching assistance with functional mobility with the new assistive device. Objective measurements: B UE strength: grossly 5/5 (former college athlete); B LE: grossly 3+/5. Single Leg Stance Test: R- 3 SECS; L-4 SECS until loss of balance Functional Reach Test: 3 in (2 points): Select the most appropriate assistive device for this patient with accurate rationale. (2 points): Write one STG for stairs. (2 points): Write one STG for ambulation. Currently walks 50 ft with new AD chosen.
