Cоurse Pоlicies: Bоnus Points For On Time Submission: Students who submit quizzes on time receive ten bonus points.  Evаluаtive critique of а scholarly debate essays submitted on time receive half a letter grade bonus (five points). To receive the points, the submission must successfully occur prior to the deadline. I cannot open invites or links. This includes those for Google Docs. Be certain you know how to export, download, upload, and save files, especially out of Google Docs. While an emailed or inboxed file (not an invite or link) received prior to the deadline suffices, it still must be submitted to the proper Canvas assignment link before a grade can be assigned. I cannot do this for you. If you need an extension, please inbox me and let me know your new due date. If the new deadline is met, the bonus points are retained.  Late Quizzes: There is a twenty-point deduction for late quizzes.  Late Side-Quest Forums: Late side-quest forums are not accepted. Late Exams and Evaluative Critique of a Scholarly Debate Essays: If you miss the midterm exam, a zero must be placed in the gradebook until the exam can be made up. A makeup exam will be administered the week prior to the final exam, but you may make arrangements to take it sooner than this. No late points are deducted from the exam. Also, no late points are deducted for a late evaluative critique of a scholarly debate essay, but bonus points are not awarded. Unfortunately, the final exam is administered at the semester's end. If you miss it, we will need to apply for a grade of Incomplete. No bonus points are awarded for exams.  NOTE: All exams and quizzes will use Honorlock to reduce academic integrity issues. If Honorlock flags your exam or quiz, you will be assigned a score of one point and be given the opportunity to retake the assessment at a WC testing center. If egregious instances of cheating occur, a zero will be assigned with no opportunity to retake the assessment.  Excused Extracurricular Activities: "Participation in a College-sanctioned activity is considered an excused absence. The student must complete the Excused Absence Form, have it signed by the club or activity advisor, and present it to all instructors prior to the impending absence. Instructors signing the form should note if the absence will be detrimental to the student’s progress in a course. The form must be returned to the activity advisor prior to the activity. Upon evaluation of instructor comments, the activity advisor may deny the student the privilege of participating in the activity. " For Dual Credit classes, high school sanctioned activities apply as long as the WC form is completed and submitted prior to the absence. Any work missed will be marked as EX and not be factored into the category’s average. If you prefer for missed work to be graded rather than excused, let me know and submit the work upon your return. NOTE: Major projects are never excused or dropped due to extracurricular activities: midterm, final, and evaluative critique of a scholarly debate essay. All major projects must be submitted for a grade. Extra-Credit Opportunities:  Each week, you may choose to participate in the optional side-quest forums.  These optional side quests are not graded, but they do score extra-credit prize points. Prize points accumulate and result in "prizes" at the end of the semester: dropping lowest forum grades, adding points to the evaluative critique of a scholarly debate essay, and / or adding points to the midterm and final exams.

Acаdemic Integrity is fundаmentаl tо the educatiоnal missiоn of Weatherford College, and the College expects its students to maintain high standards of personal and scholarly conduct. Departments may adopt discipline-specific guidelines on Generative AI usage that have been approved by the instructional dean. Any student who is demonstrated to have engaged in any of these activities will be subject to immediate disciplinary action in accordance with institutional procedures.
