For any material, you need to be properly informed about its properties, how to handle it safely, and what to do if you inhale fumes or spill a liquid on you. Safety Data Sheets (SDS; formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets) exist for all materials and are available from chemical/biologic manufacturers. They are always shipped with the material, but they can also be obtained from the manufacturer websites. This activity will show you what kind of information can be found in SDS and where to look to find it.
