This prаcticаl exаminatiоn is divided into the two following sections: Section 1: Preparatory Work Use the given images to create a digital photomontage background. Photograph yourself, finding inspiration from a famous portrait painting. Merge your portrait with the background photomontage. Include a Victorian style frame. Change part of the portrait to ‘step out’ of the frame. Plan how you are going to execute the clothing in your portrait in mixed media. Section 2: Practical Exam Session Bring your printed reference, gridding materials, and art materials to both sessions. Bring the printed photomontage, contour portrait and contour frame page to both exam sessions. Complete the portrait and frame in a range of art materials. Complete the clothing in mixed media. 2. Two weeks prior to your examination you were issued with the PREPARATORY component. You were instructed to complete all the necessary phases before today’s exam session. The necessary phases consisted of the following: Phase 1: The Digital Montage Composition. Phase 2: The Portrait Contour Drawing. Phase 3: The Frame Contour Drawing. Phase 4: Stepping out of the Composition Contour Drawing. Phase 5: The Fabric and Clothing Idea and Planning. 3. This means that: The photomontage has been created from the images given. The portrait is correctly gridded and drawn onto the photomontage page. Only contours are allowed at this stage. No tonal development. The frame is drawn accurately on the page. No tonal development at this stage. The area of the portrait that is stepping out needed to be drawn in as well. 4. You were instructed to bring the following items to your exam session: All printed references. All drawing and gridding materials. All materials needed to complete the artwork. Mixed media materials to complete the clothing or head attire. A sufficient camera or phone to document and upload your progress. 5. Prior to this exam session you completed the Preparatory Work. You will now be completing the Practical Exam.
