NASA’s current аnd future humаn spаce flight missiоns are Artemis parts I, II, III, and IV which plan tо send humans tо the Moon.  Artemis Partners - Since its inception, every state in America has made a contribution to the success of NASA’s Artemis campaign, with companies hard at work on innovations that will help establish a long-term human presence at the Moon.  Men and women across America and around the world are building the systems to support missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. These missions are critical to an expanding space economy, fueling new industries and technologies, supporting job growth, and furthering the demand for a highly skilled workforce. Main Roles of Industry Partners The heavy-lift rocket Space Launch System (SLS), capable of sending astronauts + large cargo directly to the Moon on a single launch. Its prime industry partners include Aerojet Rocketdyne, Boeing, Northrop Grumman (and related subcontractors) to build engines, propulsion systems, and other rocket hardware. The deep-space crew spacecraft Orion spacecraft — designed to carry humans on long-duration missions beyond Earth orbit — is led by Lockheed Martin. Other firms like Aerojet Rocketdyne and Northrop Grumman contribute key propulsion and control systems. The planned lunar-orbit space station Gateway, which will support lunar surface missions and deeper space exploration. Its Power & Propulsion module is to be built by Maxar Space Systems, while habitation modules will involve other industrial partners. Moon-landing capability via the Human Landing System (HLS) program: commercial companies (e.g. SpaceX, Blue Origin) are contracted to build lunar landers (crew and cargo versions) — crucial for delivering astronauts and infrastructure to the lunar surface. Surface-mobility and EVA (spacewalking) capability: for example, suits, mobility systems (rovers/terrain vehicles), and ground-equipment are being developed in partnership with commercial firms (e.g. Axiom Space) to enable astronauts to work and explore on the Moon. Upgrades and modernization of ground-infrastructure on Earth (e.g. at launch sites, processing facilities, launch-pad infrastructure) to support Artemis launches — also carried out by industry partners.   International Collaboration -While Artemis is led by NASA, the program relies heavily on international cooperation to supply critical elements. The Gateway station is described as a “centerpiece” for global cooperation in lunar/exploration efforts.  For instance: Canadian Space Agency (CSA) will supply the external robotic arm for Gateway (the next-gen “Canadarm3”), and robotics interfaces to support payloads aboard Gateway. European Space Agency (ESA) is providing habitation and refueling modules for Gateway, enhanced lunar communications, and European Service Modules (ESMs) for Orion — which power and propel Orion spacecraft for future missions. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) contributes life-support, thermal control, power (batteries), and other systems for Gateway habitation modules, plus logistics/ cargo resupply capability. Through such international contributions, Gateway and the broader Artemis infrastructure aim to support not just U.S. missions, but a global human presence around and on the Moon.   Do you think these sorts of public-private partnerships are a good thing for the future of space exploration and research?  What benefits and downsides can you foresee arising from these types of partnerships?  Do you think this will increase or decrease the chances for the success of these missions and the likelihood of future human space missions?
