Sаmаnthа and her family were getting ready tо spend the next day at the lake with sоme friends, sо she decided that she and her son, 4-year-old Case, would bake a cake.  They gathered the supplies: cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and the icing.  Together they made the cake, of course Case wanted to crack the eggs, which lead to a mess on the countertop.  The next day, Samantha was getting ready for the day, she made sure to pack sunscreen along with some bug spray.  She then went to the kitchen to pack all of their supplies for their cook-out. Case was already getting all of the snacks out of the cabinet, so Samantha started gathering the supplies for hamburgers, including all the toppings like lettuce, tomato and onions.  Once she had packed all the supplies, they headed out to the lake.  As they were leaving, Samantha remembered the cake she and Case had made the day before and went back and grabbed it. The family made it to the lake on time and joined up with their friends.  They spent the day playing in the water, riding jet skis, and tubing behind the boat.  They also enjoyed grilled hamburgers and the delicious cake!    After getting home and going to bed, Samantha noticed that her stomach just didn’t feel right, but felt it was related to being outside in the heat all day.  By the next morning, she was hurting worse, and took some TUMS.  A few hours later, her stomach was still hurting and she was beginning to feel nauseated.  She went to the bathroom and had an episode of diarrhea.  Throughout the day and into the night, she continued to have nausea, developed a fever of 101oF, and the last time she had diarrhea, it was bloody.  Samantha decided to come to the Urgent Care Clinic, as she was concerned about the blood.  You are the NP at the Urgent Care Clinic and are going in to see Samantha.  Based on what you know, please describe how you would care for this patient.  Include your diagnosis, differential diagnosis, diagnostic tests, laboratory tests, treatment plan, patient teaching, etc.
