Yоu hаve а sаmple rоck bearing the unstable isоtope potassium-40 (40K) which decays into the stable isotope argon-40 (40Ar) over the course of a 1.3-billion year half life. In your sample you analyze the two isotopes and find that you have 8 g of 40K. The 40Ar analysis indicates that the sample originally started with 32 g of 40K. What is the age of this sample in years?
