A deep seа vent releаses hydrоgen sulfide аnd оther chemicals intо the water.  Microbes, such as the bacterium Arcobacter sulfidicus, use the energy from oxidizing these hydrogen sulfide molecules to power the synthesis of carbon compounds such as glucose.  Several species of vent shrimp feed on mats of A. sulfidicus bacteria.  Vent rat fish feed on these shrimp (see image below).  We will focus on just these three species, although other organisms are involved in these interactions.  Use this scenario to answer the 3 questions that follow.
