A nurse mаnаger is cооrdinаting hоliday staffing assignments. Two nurses disagree over who should work Christmas Day. Nurse A has worked the holiday for the previous 3 years and requests Christmas off. Nurse B has a previously approved request for Christmas off and is unwilling to change those plans. The manager reviews staffing needs and discovers that another qualified nurse has offered to work Christmas in exchange for New Year's Day off. After discussing the proposal with all affected nurses, the manager develops a schedule that satisfies staffing requirements and the nurses' scheduling preferences. Which conflict management strategy is best demonstrated?

Your essay should present a clear argument while addressing all parts of the question in full sentences (not bullet points).   Option A: Integrating Explanations Public policy differs across countries due to many factors. Answer the following: (a) Define the following three approaches, and name at least one author from the course who uses each: Interest-based explanations Ideas/identity-based explanations Institutional explanations (b) Choose two of the approaches. For each, explain one important strength or limitation. (c) Which approach do you find most persuasive? Explain why using one course example.   Option B: Explaining Welfare State Differences Countries like Sweden and Finland have much more generous welfare states than the United States. Answer the following: (a) Using Esping-Andersen’s framework, describe how these welfare states differ. (b) Explain this difference using two explanations from different readings (for example: Korpi, Swenson, Kalyvas & van Kersbergen, Lijphart, Pierson). (c) Briefly compare the two explanations: identify one important point of agreement or conflict, and explain which account you find more convincing and why.   Option C: Why Policies Stick, and When They Change Some policies last for decades while others are overturned. Answer the following: (a) Explain Pierson’s argument about path dependence. Why are policies and institutions hard to change? (b) Explain Hall’s argument about how a paradigm shift happens. (c) Are these two arguments compatible? Use one example (e.g., British economic policy in the 1970s–80s, a country’s electoral system, or a welfare program you know) to show how a policy can be locked in and still change.
