Students will be tested using the Hоnоrlоck extension in Blаckboаrd. Using Honorlock requires thаt students adhere to the following guidelines and expectations. Please review the testing guidelines and select 'Agree' to proceed to the test. Selecting 'Disagree' will constitute a failing grade for the entire exam. Students must use a laptop or desktop computer with a working webcam. The webcam will remain on throughout the test, and test takers are expected to remain within the camera frame for the entirety of the test. Students must have access to a quiet, distraction-free testing space for duration of the exam. Additional computers, tablets, phones, or written content will not be permitted. The text or notes may be permitted on a case-by-case basis. Students must have a smart phone that can scan a QR code and take pictures of their testing space when taking their exam.A photo ID is required for every test.Each student will have their picture taken at the start of each test.Honorlock will record your computer's screen and all web traffic during tests.Honorlock will prevent accessing any web content outside of what is permitted during a test.Honorlock will monitor the student's testing area - which includes a test taker moving away from the view of the camera or looking at other devices or printed materials. Hats, ear buds, Air Pods, and headphones are not permitted to be worn during testing. Violations of these parameters can lead to a failing grade for the test.Students are expected to complete tests within the timeframe that they are available. Make-ups are not permitted unless a medical excuse is provided. Honorlock will flag certain behaviors during testing. Students will be notified by the application or a proctor when they are being flagged. The instructor reserves the right to fail a student based on the type, number, frequency, and/or severity of flagged behaviors during a test.The professor receives audits of tests that include full video and audio of the testing session. The professor reviews each student’s session. If there is any reason to believe that other prohibited materials were used during an exam, such as an additional electronic device being used to access an AI application during the test, a failing grade will be considered as a viable recourse. When testing during Honorlock sessions, students must be fully clothed (wear a shirt), students must refrain from using obscenity, students must refrain from using racial or ethnic slurs, students must refrain from verbally threatening to kill the professor (even if you’re joking). Yes, this a reactive policy point – and it only took one semester for all these things to happen.
