He nоtes a recent 10-pоund weight loss and intermittent fevers. Physical exam reveals petechiae and mild hepatosplenomegaly. Peripheral smear shows large immature cells with high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio and fine chromatin. Some of the blasts contain rod-like inclusions.
