If she is by some chance delayed by even a few minutes in picking him up, he becomes fretful and unable to focus his attention on activities with his friends.The interview shows Cal to be a worried, anxious, sad, child with difficulty attending to the examiner. He brightens up immediately, however, whenever his mother returns to the room. Cal describes his multiple problems with difficulty and says that he is afraid matters will never improve, although he does relate well to the examiner and states a desire to feel better and to attain his previous level of school achievement.
