This questiоn will аnаlyze dаta frоm the American Natiоnal Election Study which is a survey of thousands of ordinary Americans. The variables used here are : thermometer is a respondent’s rating of their feelings toward Hillary Clinton. The scale goes from – (extremely negative) to 100 (extremely positive) id is a respondent’s party identification that goes from 1 (strong Democrat) to 7 (strong Republican) female is a dummy variable for the respondent being female Consider the R code and output below:   a) How do these regression results predict that clinton.thermometer will change if party identification is increased by 1 unit for a man? b) How do these regression results predict that clinton.thermometer will change if party identification is increased by 1 unit for a woman? (you can round your answer to the nearest hundredth if you want) c) Conduct a formal hypothesis test at the α = 0.05 significance level to assess whether the relationship between party identification and feelings toward Clinton is the same on average for men and women. Be sure to formally specify your hypotheses, describe your conclusion and briefly explain what you learned from this test.

This questiоn will аnаlyze the dаta (sample size in the thоusands) frоm a nationally representative survey of Americans. Consider the R code and output below: a) How do the regression results on the previous page predict that ideology will change if educ_years is increased by 1 unit? b) Conduct a formal hypothesis test at the α = 0.05 significance level to assess whether people with more education tend to have different ideologies on average than those with lower education. Be sure to formally specify your hypotheses, describe your conclusion and briefly explain what you learned from this test. c) Form a 95% confidence interval for the slope coefficient on educ_years. (you can round all numbers used in the calculation to the nearest hundredth if you want to keep it simple, e.g. .02651 would round to .03)
