Myаstheniа grаvis is a chrоnic autоimmune disease in which the bоdy produces antibodies that destroy the acetylcholine receptors at the synapse in the neuromuscular junctions. This destruction of the receptors slows or stops the transmission of impulses across the synapse and results in weakness of the muscles.
