Prоductiоn оf а chemicаl in аn insect species is controlled by one gene with two alleles. The allele for chemical production is dominant; inability to produce the chemical is recessive (HH and Hh produce the chemical, hh individuals do not). The group of insects is currently very large, with about half the individuals producing the chemical and have not producing it.  Researchers determine that production of the chemical attracts a predator of the insects. Insects that produce the chemical are 75% more likely to die than insects that do not produce the chemical. Chemical production has no impact on the number of offspring produced by an insect that survives to adulthood. Based on this information, what is our best prediction for this insect species? The H allele and ability to produce the chemical will __________________.
