Then, describe how strategies and tactics can be applied to a particular crime problem of your choosing. Compare and contrast the overarching philosophical tendencies of idealism and pragmatism and discuss at least three primary interests of each. Describe how an idealist would view the death penalty. Describe how a pragmatist would view the death penalty.  Compare and contrast private morality, public morality, and professional ethics. Also, discuss how idealists and pragmatists view each of these concepts as it relates to physician-assisted suicide.  Select one philosophy (theory) that would be considered an idealistic perspective and one philosophy that would be considered a pragmatic perspective. Discuss the central points of each of these theories in detail. Compare and contrast these two perspectives (idealism and pragmatism) by identifying how each would perceive the act of burning the American flag.  Define and discuss agents of social control. Then identify at least two agents of formal social control and two agents of informal social control. Then compare and contrast informal social control and formal social control mechanisms. How are these forms of social control used to control deviant behavior? Give an example of informal social control and formal social control including.
