Using the imаge belоw, there is enоugh infоrmаtion to prove  . Two triаngles intersect, forming an hourglass-shaped X figure with point K in the middle at the point of intersection. The upper triangle has vertices D, J, and K, and the lower triangle has vertices I, H, and K. In the upper triangle, segment DJ has one tick mark and segment JK has two tick marks. In the lower triangle, segment IH has one tick mark and segment IK has two tick marks. Points J, K, and I lie on one straight line, and points D, K, and H lie on another straight line intersecting at K. The matching tick marks indicate pairs of congruent sides.

We find that the slope of both  and   is [ans1] and that the slope of  and  is [ans2] A coordinate plane with grid lines is shown. Four solid points form quadrilateral GHIJ. Point G is at (8, 4). Point H is at (1, −1). Point I is at (4, −2). Point J is at (11, 3). Straight line segments connect G to H, H to I, I to J, and J back to G, forming a closed four-sided figure on the grid.
