At the Pаris Peаce Cоnference, Americаn President Wооdrow Wilson unveiled an ambitious and idealistic package of global diplomatic reorganization. Earlier in the year, before a joint session of congress, he had presented his statement of war aims and peace terms known as [BLANK-1]. Wilson’s plan for the post-war world emphasized inviolable national sovereignty and called for the creation of the League of Nations. In Paris, America’s Triple Entente allies cautiously endorsed Wilson’s plan, but the United States legislature refused to ratify the Treaty of Versailles (which contained many of his ideas), essentially rejecting Wilson’s ideology in his own home nation.
