If you have questions about these requirements or do not understand any portion of this policy, it is your responsibility to contact the instructor at least 24 hours prior to the exam due date. Online exams will be administered using Honorlock remote proctoring software. Students are responsible for ensuring they meet all technology, camera, environment, and identity verification requirements before beginning the assessment. Your computer must be placed on a desk or table- not on a bed or couch. Do not read questions or answers aloud. Secondary camera (side view): must be a separate device (such as a cellphone or another camera) positioned to continuously show: the student in profile (side) the computer screen the keyboard the desk, hands, and entire workspace area Both camera views must remain active, unobstructed, and stable for the duration of the exam. Violations of this will invalidate your exam and result in a grade of "zero".  Required Environment Check Students will be required to: Complete a room scan Show the testing surface, surrounding area, and area underneath the desk Present a valid government-issued or school photo ID Take a verification photo Verify microphone and camera functionality Follow any additional instructor instructions Failure to complete ID verification, room scans, or required camera setup will invalidate the exam attempt. Technical Issues Students are responsible for maintaining reliable internet and working equipment during testing. Repeated technical problems, suspicious interruptions, or failure to maintain required camera views may require future exams to be completed: in person at Vernon College, or at another approved testing center Academic Integrity Exam sessions may be recorded and reviewed at any time. Suspicious activity may be flagged for instructor review, including: Accessing unauthorized websites or applications Copying, printing, photographing, or sharing exam content Using unauthorized materials or assistance Using AI tools, search engines, messaging platforms, or external devices unless specifically authorized Leaving camera view during the exam Inconsistent identity verification Multiple people appearing in the testing environment Instructor review constitutes the final determination of academic integrity concerns. Violations of Academic Integrity Confirmed Violations Confirmed violations of academic integrity or exam security requirements will result in: A grade of zero on the exam/assignment Requirement that all remaining course exams be completed in person Additional disciplinary action in accordance with Vernon College policy Suspected Violations If academic integrity concerns are identified, the following may occur: Required meeting with the instructor (in person or via Teams) Requirement to repeat the assessment in person Requirement that all remaining exams be completed in person Final Reminder Students are responsible for maintaining an exam environment beyond suspicion and following all testing instructions precisely.
