Cystoscope was then inserted into the urethra; it was normal. The prostate was nonobstructed, and the bladder was free of neoplasm, infection, or calculus. There was some edema of the right intramural ureter. A guidewire was introduced into the right ureteral orifice and advanced to the right renal-collecting system without difficulty. A balloon was used to dilate the ureter, and a scope was introduced. The gravel was noted from the stone being fragmented from the balloon. This was washing out. The remainder of the ureter was examined and found to be free of neoplasm, perforation, or calculus. The patient was transferred to the recovery room in satisfactory condition.
