Yоu аre scаnning а patient with cirrhоsis tо check for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). On a standard B-mode scan, the liver looks coarse and "noisy," making it impossible to see any specific masses. You inject a microbubble contrast agent and activate Power Modulation. Immediately, the screen turns almost completely black except for the bright, glowing branches of the hepatic artery and portal vein. Suddenly, a small, bright "spotlight" appears in the right lobe—a hyper vascular lesion that was completely invisible on the standard scan. Why is it dark?
